Punjab Kings as Sikandar Raza leaves for Zimbabwe

In IPL 2024, a big blow to the Punjab Kings as Sikandar Raza leaves for Zimbabwe duty
All-rounder Sikandar Raza of PBKS bid farewell to the team ahead of their IPL 2024 matchup against Chennai Super Kings. Raza is expected to captain Zimbabwe against Bangladesh after being included in the team. The five-match T20I series is slated to take place between May 3 and May 12.

To announce his resignation from the team, Sikandar Raza resorted to Twitter. I had a great time, and I want to thank India, the Indian Premier League, and the Punjab Kings IPL for having me. It's time to do your country's business, Sikandar Raza stated on social media.

One of the best limited-overs all-rounders in the world, Sikandar Raza, has a difficult time getting noticed in the IPL 2024. He only participated in two games and scored 43 runs, thus he did not get many chances to showcase his skills. In the previous IPL season, he participated in seven matches and amassed 139 runs, including one half-century. Three wickets had also been captured by Sikandar Raza.

The Punjab Kings are still in seventh place in the standings despite their thrilling victory on Friday. They have six points and a net run rate of -0.187 after nine IPL 2024 matches.

To advance, PBKS must prevail in each of their final five games. However, even with multiple teams finishing with 16 points, they could not be safe because the net run rate could be the decisive element.
